FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VENOM® INTRODUCES THE ULTIMATE PRO
The All-New Venom BlackBook Pro 18
Melbourne, Australia – September 2026 – Venom Computers today announced the launch of the all-new BlackBook Pro 18, the first new BlackBook Pro in three years and the most powerful thin-and-light MuscleBook™ Venom has produced.
Designed for creators, engineers, developers and professionals whose workloads have outgrown conventional notebook computing, the BlackBook Pro 18 combines an 18-inch professional display, Intel® Core™ i9 HX processing, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ graphics, a 200W-class triple-fan thermal architecture and extensive memory and storage expansion in a mobile 2.65kg platform.
It is not an Ultrabook made faster.
It is not a gaming machine dressed for work.
It is a MuscleBook.
Desktop-class workspace.
Sustained professional performance.
BlackBook mobility.
“The Pro is not a product we believe should be replaced every year simply because Intel or NVIDIA changes a model number,” said Jaan Turon, Director of Venom.
“A professional who has invested in a serious computer should not be told that an incremental annual improvement suddenly makes that machine obsolete. We wait until the technology has moved far enough to materially change what the computer can do.”
“That is why it has taken three years to introduce the next BlackBook Pro.”
“Now the difference is substantial enough to justify it.”
It Took Three Years
The technology industry has normalised the annual refresh.
A new processor arrives. A graphics processor changes. A model number moves forward.
But a new component does not necessarily create a meaningfully better computer.
A processor that is several percent faster does not suddenly make a professional computer purchased the year before obsolete, and it is not a compelling reason for someone to replace a machine in which they may have invested thousands of dollars.
Venom has historically followed a different principle:
Best to market. Not first to market.
A new BlackBook generation should represent a meaningful technological step—not simply the arrival of another annual processor or graphics cycle.
The outgoing BlackBook Pro 17 remained in the range because it remained a capable professional computer.
Venom waited until advances in processing, graphics, memory, storage, display technology, cooling and chassis engineering were substantial enough to justify replacing the platform itself.
The BlackBook Pro 18 is that point.
Depending on the workload, the result is not an incremental annual improvement, but a performance increase ranging from around 40% to well over 100%.
The outgoing Pro 17 combined an 8-core, 16-thread Intel® Core™ i7-11800H processor with NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3070 Max-Q graphics, up to 64GB of DDR4 memory and up to 8TB of internal solid-state storage.
The BlackBook Pro 18 moves to a 24-core, 32-thread Intel® Core™ i9-14900HX processor, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5070 graphics, up to 128GB of DDR5 memory and as much as 16TB of dual-drive PCIe Gen4 NVMe storage.
That is not an annual specification change.
It is a new performance platform.
The MuscleBook, Reconsidered
Venom created the MuscleBook concept around a simple idea:
Desktop-class performance should not have to remain on a desktop.
The BlackBook Pro 18 continues that philosophy with considerably greater processing, graphics and thermal capability while remaining a computer that can move between offices, studios, sites and countries.
Its Intel® Core™ i9-14900HX processor provides 24 cores and 32 threads with frequencies of up to 5.8GHz, creating substantial processing headroom for software compilation, engineering workloads, rendering, simulation, large datasets, virtual machines and heavy professional multitasking.
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5070 graphics with 8GB of GDDR7 memory provide dedicated GPU acceleration for professional creative applications, rendering, 3D workflows, high-resolution content and other graphics-intensive workloads.
But individual components are only part of the system.
The objective is not simply to reach peak performance.
It is to maintain it.
Performance That Stays
Peak benchmark performance tells only part of the story.
Professional workloads can continue for minutes or hours, not seconds.
The BlackBook Pro 18 incorporates Venom Stealth Cooling, a user-definable triple-fan thermal system engineered around a 200W-class thermal load.
Two primary thermal fans and a dedicated system fan work with a wide-body heat-pipe architecture designed to sustain up to 85W of CPU power alongside the NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5070 operating at up to 115W.
The result is performance engineered to remain available through long renders, simulations, compilation workloads, creative production and sustained professional use.
Venom Control Center allows users to manage performance modes, GPU behaviour, cooling, lighting and system power according to the workload and working environment.
Performance when it is required.
Control when it is not.
What Three Years Means in Real Work
The difference between the outgoing Pro 17 and the new Pro 18 is not represented by a single benchmark.
Different professional workloads use the processor, graphics processor, memory and storage in very different ways.
Depending on the workload, the new Pro 18 delivers performance gains from around 40% to well over 100% compared with the outgoing Pro 17 in performance-intensive professional work.
What that means depends on what you do.
Engineering & 3D
An engineer working in CAD, simulation, rendering or 3D visualisation can expect 50% to well over 100% more performance, depending on the application and workload.
Heavily multi-threaded rendering and simulation tasks can complete in less than half the time, while the RTX 5070 provides substantially greater graphics capability for complex models, visualisation and GPU-accelerated workflows.
Software Development
A developer compiling large projects, running containers, virtual machines or multiple development environments can see 70% to 140% greater performance in heavily threaded workloads.
The move from 64GB to a maximum 128GB of memory also allows substantially more virtual machines, development tools, datasets and services to operate concurrently before memory becomes the limitation.
Creative Production
A video editor, designer or content creator using GPU-accelerated applications can expect 40% to 80% greater performance across rendering, effects, encoding, exports and other accelerated workflows, with some newer RTX-enabled tasks gaining considerably more.
The larger 18-inch DCI-P3 display also means that the performance improvement is accompanied by a substantially larger and more capable working environment.
Business & Office
General office applications do not need 24 processor cores or an RTX graphics processor simply to open an email or edit a document.
For everyday business use, responsiveness can improve by 25% to 45%, while large spreadsheets, financial models, complex browser environments, data analysis and heavy multitasking can benefit considerably more.
That distinction matters.
The Pro 18 is not faster simply because a specification sheet says so.
For the office user, it is noticeably faster.
For the developer, it can be dramatically faster.
For the engineer or creator, some workloads can take less than half the time.
18 Inches. On Purpose.
The BlackBook Pro 18 was not made larger simply for the sake of having a larger laptop.
The additional space creates a different working environment.
Its 18-inch Venom Vision™ display presents 4.09 million pixels across a 2560 × 1600 WQXGA+ resolution and productivity-focused 16:10 aspect ratio.
The panel operates at 180Hz, covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour space and is X-Rite factory calibrated, Pantone® Validated and HDR400 capable.
Switchable DCI-P3, Adobe RGB and sRGB colour modes allow the display to adapt to different professional workflows, while the non-glare surface supports extended use across studios, offices and mobile environments.
The larger working area provides more room for CAD environments, editing timelines, software development tools, large spreadsheets, technical applications and multiple simultaneous windows.
For professionals who spend their working day looking through the display, workspace is not a cosmetic specification.
It is part of performance.
Built Around Serious Graphics
Modern professional applications increasingly distribute workloads between CPU and GPU resources.
The BlackBook Pro 18 incorporates NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5070 graphics with 8GB of high-speed GDDR7 video memory and up to 115W total graphics power.
3D rendering, video processing, visualisation, GPU-assisted creative applications, CAD environments and emerging AI-enabled tools can all benefit from dedicated graphics acceleration.
The Pro 18 was therefore designed around CPU and GPU performance as a complete thermal system rather than treating the graphics processor as an isolated specification.
High-performance components are useful only when the computer can continue supplying the power they require and removing the heat they generate.
That is what the larger Pro 18 platform makes possible.
A Full Desktop-Style Working Environment
An 18-inch computer provides room for more than a larger screen.
The BlackBook Pro 18 incorporates a full-size keyboard with a genuine 19mm desktop pitch, 16.2mm keycaps, 1.8mm key travel and a dedicated numeric keypad.
A large glass precision touchpad provides an expansive working surface with multi-gesture support and palm rejection.
For engineers, developers, accountants, analysts, creators and other professionals who spend hours working directly on their notebook, keyboard geometry and input quality are not minor details.
The objective was not simply to fill an 18-inch chassis.
It was to use the space properly.
Expansion Without Premature Replacement
The BlackBook Pro 18 continues Venom’s long-standing belief that a premium professional computer should remain useful, serviceable and upgradeable for years.
Two user-accessible SO-DIMM memory slots support configurations from 16GB to 128GB of DDR5 memory.
Two M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 storage slots provide configurations ranging from 500GB to 16TB of internal NVMe solid-state storage.
The outgoing BlackBook Pro 17 supported up to 64GB of memory and 8TB of storage.
The Pro 18 doubles both ceilings.
This provides significantly greater headroom for growing datasets, development environments, virtual machines, large project libraries and increasingly memory-intensive professional applications.
It also allows customers to purchase the capacity required today while retaining the ability to expand the computer as their requirements change.
Future-proofing is not a claim that technology will stop advancing.
It is the ability to adapt when requirements change.
Professional Connectivity Without Dongle Dependency
The BlackBook Pro 18 retains extensive physical connectivity for professional working environments.
Three USB Type-A connections sit alongside two USB-C ports supporting DisplayPort™ 2.1 and Power Delivery, HDMI™ 2.1, Mini DisplayPort™ 2.1, 2.5Gb Ethernet, audio connectivity and dedicated DC power.
Intel® Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 provide modern wireless connectivity, while built-in 2.5Gb Ethernet remains available for fixed professional environments, large network transfers and applications where wired connectivity remains preferable.
Multiple native display connections allow the Pro 18 to become the centre of a substantial desktop environment without requiring the computer itself to become a desktop.
The philosophy is simple:
A professional notebook should adapt to the workspace.
The workspace should not have to adapt to the notebook.
99Wh of Mobile Working Capacity
The BlackBook Pro 18 is a high-performance computer, but it remains a mobile one.
Its 99Wh lithium-polymer battery uses the maximum airline-compliant capacity commonly available in a notebook computer, providing substantial operating reserves when the system is away from mains power.
When full performance is required, the Venom Ultra Slim 280W power adapter supplies the system while retaining worldwide 100–240V compatibility and fast-charging support.
The Pro 18 does not pretend to be an ultralight.
Its purpose is different.
At approximately 2.65kg, it is designed for professionals who require desktop-class capability but still need their computer to move between offices, studios, sites, homes and countries.
Portability is about minimum size.
Mobility is about being able to take the computer where the work is.
Designed Around the Work
The BlackBook Pro 18 is not intended for every notebook user.
Professionals whose priority is minimum weight and maximum everyday portability are better served by smaller BlackBook platforms.
The Pro 18 is for workloads where processing power, graphics performance, screen area, thermal headroom, expansion and desktop-style usability matter more than achieving the smallest possible footprint.
That includes professional content creation, engineering, CAD, software development, data analysis, modelling, rendering, large spreadsheets, multi-application environments and other workloads that increasingly challenge conventional mobile computers.
Purpose-built does not mean built for everyone.
It means built properly for the people who need it.

The Ultimate Pro
The BlackBook Pro lineage has always been built around a simple question:
How much professional performance can be engineered into a computer that still moves?
For the Pro 18, answering that question required more than replacing a processor.
It required a new platform.
A larger professional workspace.
A substantially more powerful processor.
A new graphics architecture.
Greater thermal capacity.
Double the maximum memory.
Double the maximum storage.
And a 99Wh battery to keep the entire system mobile.
That is why Venom waited three years.
A new model number was never the objective.
A meaningfully better computer was.
“The most powerful thin and light MuscleBook notebook computer we’ve ever made, just got even more power.”
Not an Ultrabook.
Not a gaming machine dressed for work.
A MuscleBook.
